California-based enterprise software provider Quali has released an updated version of its CloudShell solution. CloudShell is based on a test environment as a service model, providing full-stack, on-demand hybrid IT environments for application development and testing, including integration with physical infrastructures. According to a Quali press release, the latest version of the solution, CloudShell 9.0, offers a simplified save-and-restore process for sandbox environments, which, the company says, will lead to more efficient utilisation and re-usability of physical and virtual infrastructure. The saving capability preserves the original environment content, configuration and network state. The “saved sandbox” can then be restored by the user at a later time. This prevents overconsumption of IT infrastructure (physical or virtual), allowing users to create an efficient backup of their work environment. Additionally, this CloudShell edition offers flexible cloud provider templates. This will allow users to build their own cloud support in CloudShell and deploy complex applications in the cloud of their choice, offering environments-as-a-service to their developers and testers.
