On 13 November 2013, Zephyr, the California-based test management software provider, acquired Capture for JIRA, a visual feedback and collaborative testing tool from Atlassian, the Sydney-based enterprise software company. Of the acquisition, Zephyr CEO Scott Johnson said: “We are excited to bring software testing innovation to Capture for JIRA customers and expand our collaboration with Atlassian and our presence on their marketplace. Atlassian has done a fantastic job with this product line and we are looking forward to building on this success with continued investments and innovation in the product.” Capture for JIRA is a testing tool that allows software teams to collaborate with visual feedback, allowing users to capture screenshots within browsers, create annotations, and prioritise testing initiatives within the JIRA platform. Zephyr has been an Atlassian partner for several years, and is well known for the tool Zephyr for JIRA, one of the test management solutions offered in the Atlassian marketplace. “We believe Capture for JIRA will thrive under the ownership of Zephyr. They have a proven track record in the software testing space and Capture for JIRA aligns well with their strategic focus on quality and testing for all types of software and IT teams,” said Bryan Rollins, Head of Server Business at Atlassian. Capture for JIRA will remain on the Atlassian Marketplace as an app, current licences and subscriptions will remain active, and support will be offered directly from Zephyr.
