A recent survey conducted by SolarWinds, the Texas-headquartered observability specialist, has highlighted significant challenges in achieving observability within IT environments. The survey polled 300 IT professionals to identify the primary obstacles they encounter. The results revealed that the top challenges include the rapid pace of technological change (72%), IT blind spots (58%) and the increasing complexity of modern applications (58%).
The survey also found that the primary motivations for investing in observability platforms are to enhance customer experience (96%), foster quicker innovation (71%), reduce the time spent on issue resolution (71%) and detection (60%), and to boost operational efficiency (55%).
