The fast-growing Oracle and ServiceNow implementation startup De Novo Solutions has made a range of new senior hires, including a former Oracle executive and the appointment of its first-ever chief people officer.

The Wales, UK-based company, which offers testing as one of its services, launched a testing and monitoring software infrastructure platform earlier this year that focuses specifically on helping customers with financial processing, such as payments and salaries.

De Novo Solutions, based in Langstone in the south of Wales, said it has signed up former Oracle leader Rob Gibney as its new Brand Ambassador.

Gibney, who has roughly three decades of experience in digital transformation and cloud adoption, has been hired to help “navigate market challenges and drive strategic growth.”

As Brand Ambassador, Gibney will represent de Novo Solutions at key industry events, forge strategic partnerships, and strengthen joint engagement with both new and existing customers.

“By working closely with Oracle and its user community, he will play a crucial role in driving new business, increasing brand visibility, and expanding de Novo’s market presence, the firm said in a statement.

In addition to Gibney, the company confirmed two other senior hires.

Tom Mann

Tom Mann has been appointed as the company’s new chief experience officer.

Mann, who joined de Novo Solutions as Senior Vice President of Client Services in December 2023, has been “instrumental in enhancing client satisfaction and driving operational excellence, making an immediate impact on the organisation as it scales,” the company said in a statement.

His new responsibilities will include refining and expanding De Novo’s Value as a Service (VaaS) offering, as well as strengthening the firm’s global strategy, such as expanding the company’s overseas capabilities, particularly in India.

Finally, De Novo also confirmed the appointment of Charlene Young as its new – and first-ever – Chief People Officer (CPO), who is leaving her previous employer, Eight Wealth Management, to move to Wales.

For De Novo, Young will focus upon several strategic initiatives, such strengthening and evolving the company’s culture, talent development and retention, leadership development as well as employee engagement

Rapid expansion

The firm’s first-ever people officer comes as, over the last 12 months, De Novo claimed to have doubled its revenue and expanded its team to 100 employees.

Only last week, De Novo announced a major partnership with test automation firm Opkey to integrate Opkey’s QA platform into several of its solutions.

The companies said the collaboration will give De Novo Solutions a QA testing boost and should lead to reduced costs and software that can be deployed faster.

“The partnership aims to integrate Opkey’s no-code automation platform into de Novo Solutions’ Testing as a Service offerings and its Odyssea industry cloud solutions, streamlining testing processes for more efficient operations,” the firms explained in an email to QA Financial.

They stressed the collaboration should simplify the testing of enterprise software with intelligent automation, reducing manual effort and minimising human error.

Lisa Chamberlain, head of Testing at de Novo Solutions, stressed that “by integrating their advanced automation capabilities into our Testing as a Service proposition, we can now provide faster, more trusted software releases, ultimately enhancing digital transformation journeys.”

TaaS platform

Earlier this year De Novo launched a new solution that offers automated, flexible and secure software testing capabilities, specifically designed for finance firms.

The firm’s platform is personalised, data-driven and aimed at testing and monitoring software infrastructure across banks, financial services firms and other companies in the finance space.

De Novo Solutions, which launched in 2021, said its new Testing as a Service (TaaS) practice aims to “redefine software testing by providing automated, flexible, and on-demand solutions designed to accelerate innovation and enhance software quality,” explained Chamberlain.

She elaborated that “by integrating automation into our software testing processes, we simplify the adoption of new features. This integration enables clients to accelerate innovation and significantly reduce testing risks.”

Chamberlain went on to stress that “it also streamlines testing cycles, driving their growth and setting a new standard for quality and efficiency in software testing.”

By freeing up development teams’ time and resources, TaaS enables them to adopt innovations quickly, Chamberlain continued, as she pointed out that the TaaS platform includes systems integration testing, user acceptance testing, and regression testing.

Other options include collaborating with test practitioners, automated and configurable testing services, managing test process and data reporting.

She claimed that “unlike traditional testing services, this practice enables businesses to collaborate with test practitioners to create bespoke services, eliminating fixed costs and alleviating the burden on in-house resources.”

In fact, “this approach empowers organisations to manage their testing needs effectively with a trusted partner while optimising resources, budget, and time, Chamberlain concluded.
