Cape Town-based Inspired Testing confirmed it has hired Tesco Bank’s former head of testing, Tristan Brown, as a senior solutions consultant to oversee all UK operations.

He will be tasked with leading the South African software testing firm’s expansion into Britain, earmarked by the company as one if its key growth markets this year.

Brown, who with decades of experience under his belt, is seen as somewhat of an industry veteran in software testing and consultancy, “is poised to play a key role in expanding the company’s presence in both the UK and European markets,” the company wrote in a statement.

Previously, Brown served a head of engineering, QA & automation at UK-based Tesco Bank, from 2018 to 2022, where he managed a range of large-scale, multimillion-pound QA programs.

“Brown’s expertise in both hands-on testing and strategic leadership will be invaluable as Inspired Testing seeks to strengthen its position as a preferred software testing partner for financial services firms across the region,” the company wrote.

Comeback

Commenting on his new job, Brown shared that “I love breaking down complex scenarios and solving challenges to unlock real value for organisations.”

In September 2022, Brown left Tesco Bank and stepped away from the corporate world to focus on managing his family’s farm in Northumberland while continuing freelance consultancy. Now he is ready to re-enter the software testing space.

“My focus will be on delivering practical solutions and building strong partnerships, ensuring that testing is strategic, adaptable, and impactful.”

Jacques Fouché, the current chief executive officer of Inspired Testing, was keen to highlight how Brown’s leadership and proven expertise align with the company’s goals.

“Tristan’s extensive experience will be crucial in our expansion efforts in the UK, especially in formalising our bid processes,” he noted.

Looking ahead, Fouché said his company is planning to launch a UK-based software testing internship program aimed at developing emerging talent and contributing to the future growth of the industry.

Brown’s appointment is part of the company’s broader strategy “to build a vibrant organisational culture while driving growth in the UK market,” he stressed.
