California-based software testing solution provider Parasoft confirmed to QA Financial that industry veteran Joanna Schloss is joining the company as its new chief marketing officer.
This means Schloss, who is a former SmartBear manager, will give up her current job at Adeptia, where she led product marketing, developer relations, and open source initiatives.
In her role as CMO, Schloss will oversee Parasoft’s global marketing team and lead “the advancement of Parasoft’s next phase of growth,” as the company put it.
She will be responsible for go-to-market strategies aimed at showcasing product innovation, enhancing market awareness, and deepening customer engagement. Schloss will also be expected to drive Parasoft’s push intro new markets and identify new opportunities for the company.
“At heart, I’m a technology enthusiast. I thrive on collaborating with customers and colleagues to bring game-changing innovations to market,” said Schloss, while commenting on her new move.
She stressed that Parasoft’s “approach to infusing AI into the platform perfectly positions the company to lead the industry into a new age of automation.”
With experience in testing, AI, big data analytics, and open source technologies, Schloss has launched a diverse array of products for a host of companies, large and small.
Before joining Parasoft, Joanna was chief marketing officer at Adeptia. Other previous roles include senior vice president of marketing at SmartBear, vice president of product marketing at Sauce Labs, senior director of product marketing at Confluent, and director of product marketing at Datameer, among other positions. She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Elizabeth Kolawa, CEO of Parasoft, pointed out Schloss’ experience and “strategic vision” as she this “makes her the perfect fit to lead our marketing efforts as we continue to innovate and expand our market presence.”
US growth
Parasoft is eyeing expansion in its homemarket as the US is firmly on the company’s radar. The firm recently opened a new office in Ohio.
The new Northeast Ohio office will serve as a hub for business development, customer success initiatives, and innovation to support the growth of the financial services industry in the Midwest.
Dave Vano, chief revenue officer at Parasoft, explained that the decision to establish a presence in Ohio emphasised Parasoft’s approach to meeting the evolving needs of the software testing industry, particularly “as the industry experiences rapid changes.”
He added: “As we celebrate the opening of our newest office in Northeast Ohio, we’re not just expanding our physical presence; we’re reinforcing our commitment to driving innovation and excellence in software test automation.”
Amid the company’s market expansion, it also made a number of updates to its accessibility testing solutions, as well as its application programming interface (API) and micro-services.
For API testing, the company now uses AI to offer auto-parameterization of API scenario tests generated by the OpenAI integration.
“This update will streamline the process of developing test scenarios that validate data flows,” it explained.
With regards to micro-testing, Parasoft recently launched a single test environment for collecting code coverage metrics from multiple parallel test executions for Java and .NET microservices, it revealed.
New platform
The latest testing solution upgrades come just a few months after Parasoft developed a new platform specifically aimed at developers involved in C and C++ applications.
Designed for large teams developing C products, the company confirmed to QA Financial that its new C/C++test CT solution has gone live.
“It was designed specifically to meet the needs of safety and security critical embedded applications,” according to spokeswoman in Monrovia, California.
She stressed that, following feedback from customers and after studying market trends, such as the rising popularity of frameworks like GoogleTest, Parasoft identified the need for this new product.
“C/C++test CT is designed to streamline test automation and ensure continuous compliance with standards, making it an essential tool for software development teams,” she explained.
The spokeswoman added that the solution is integrated into developers’ desktop environments and CI/CD workflows, so it caters to both large, intricate systems and smaller applications.
