Financial services firms facing mounting pressure to manage complex testing and compliance requirements are being targeted by Sembi’s latest move.
The company, a SaaS portfolio specialising in software testing and security solutions, has launched Sembi Intelligent Quality (Sembi IQ), a centralised AI platform designed to embed explainable intelligence into existing workflows across its testing and security brands.
The rollout comes as Sembi accelerates efforts to integrate eight software businesses under one umbrella and sharpen its position in regulated, high-velocity markets.
“Sembi IQ reflects a strategic shift in how we approach quality at scale,” claimed Judy Bossi, vice president of product at Sembi.
“This is not about layering on AI for the sake of AI. It is about delivering intelligence in ways that are natural, trustworthy, and tailored to real enterprise needs,” she added, arguing that her firm “is helping customers adopt intelligent quality without adding friction, and that is what makes this platform so impactful.”
The first live features are being introduced in DesignWise, Sembi’s test optimisation tool used by global QA teams.
Hélder Ferreira, director of product management at Sembi, explained that “the DesignWise AI rollout is a significant milestone for us.”
Ferreira added that “it demonstrates that Sembi IQ isn’t theoretical, it’s already delivering real, contextual intelligence to our customers. And it’s just the beginning. TestRail and Xray will soon launch their own AI-enabled features, powered by the same architecture.”
Broader strategy
The AI launch is part of a wider overhaul of Sembi’s operations after the Texas-based company recently named Mark Haney as its new chief technology officer.
The announcement came as Sembi seeks to unify eight leading software brands under a single platform, aiming to streamline quality management and bolster security for enterprise users.

Sembi, launched in January by Idera, consolidates six software testing brands, namely TestRail, Xray, Testmo, Ranorex, Xporter, as well as DesignWise, alongside two security-focused products, Kiuwan and PreEmptive.
The unified platform is designed to align strategic goals, streamline testing processes, and enhance security monitoring across enterprise applications.
Prior to joining Sembi, Haney held senior positions at Intelerad Medical Systems, Alkami Technology, and ExamSoft, where he led product innovation and operational scaling efforts across diverse software portfolios.
“Unifying eight active brands under one portfolio is an ambitious project for any organisation, especially when each represents a respected name in the software quality and security industries,” stressed Haney.
Sembi’s focus on agile methodologies and cloud-first strategies is expected to accelerate product development across its testing and security brands.
The move underscores Sembi’s bold ambition to provide testing solutions to more than 20,000 customers around the world in the years to come, the firm claimed. Additional Sembi IQ-powered features for TestRail and Xray are scheduled for the end of this year.
