Testing veteran Maxim Gente joins Nasdaq as new QA head

Stock trading giant Nasdaq has appointed a new head of quality assurance as Maxim Gente has taken up the role of global head of QA at the financial giant.

Gente, who is based in the City of London, joined Nasdaq last month, according to an update on LinkedIn.

The industry insider is no stranger to financial services firm’s QA matters as he worked for a range of large players, including Crédit Agricole, Barclays and Lloyds.

Until recently Gente was global head of QA at Adenza, the software development firm that was acquired by Nasdaq in 2023, taking up the role in June 2021.

Before that he was executive director, global head of QA capital markets at French banking giant Credit Agricole, where he had worked since May 2015.

Between October 2013 and May 2015 Gente was a director and head of QA and enterprise release at Barclays Corporate Banking division.

He joined Barclays from Lloyds Banking Group, where he had worked close to three years as head of QA and Testing at the bank’s commercial banking division.

Strategic thinker

Gente describes himself on his LinkedIn account as a “strategic thinker with a track record of building highly effective QA functions within the financial technologies industry.

He also states he has a “solid foundation in QA, Release Management and IT Service Management tools, standards and best practices.

Gente managed geographically distributed teams of various sizes and based on various sourcing models, his profile mentions, thereby gaining “extensive experience in leading successful initiatives focused on introduction of automation at all stages of the delivery lifecycle, transforming legacy waterfall operations into agile and highly automated environments.”
