QA testing giant Tricentis told QA Financial today it has recruited Damien Johnson as its new field chief technology officer (CTO) for the American markets.

New York City-based Johnson is a well-known name within the testing space, considered a seasoned QA professional with a career spanning close to three decades in SAP transformations.

He was previously global chief architect for RISE with German software multinational SAP where he was responsible for helping company’s large strategic customers and major service providers modernise and migrate to the cloud.

At Tricentis, Johnson will help support the company’s technology and business strategy with a focus on providing technical expertise and guidance to customers, prospects, and partners to achieve maximal value through their IT transformation and DevOps initiatives, explained Ian Steward, chief revenue officer at Tricentis.

He added that “Damien’s deep expertise and track record of success make him a valuable asset to Tricentis’ community of customers, prospects, and partners as they look to both accelerate and de-risk their business transformations.”

Steward said “Damien will serve as an integral part of our technical go-to-market strategy in support of our mission to empower every organisation to deliver high-quality software at speed and scale resulting in better business outcomes.”

Johnson’s hiring comes only weeks after Tricentis announced the appointments of Ayumu Narizuka as Japan Country Manager and David Kimball as Senior Vice President for Americas.

He will work alongside one of the firm’s key tech players, David Colwell, VP of AI and ML, who sat down with QA Financial to zoom in on the company’s generative AI investments in testing and overall DevOps approach.

Responding to his appointment, Johnson said he considers Tricentis to be “the foremost leader in enabling innovation and software value generation by eliminating quality as a bottleneck to their IT and business transformations.”

He added that “in my role as Field CTO for Americas at Tricentis, I look forward to combining my passions working with organizations to understand their operational goals and helping them go beyond their expectations to accelerate time to value and value realization.”
