The regional Asian United Bank Limited (UBL) has hired AUTON8 as its new automation testing partner for a major core systems validation effort, completing Phase 1 in just 16 weeks, the companies confirmed in a statement.
The collaboration marks a significant milestone in UBL’s digital transformation programme, aiming to validate its core banking systems with greater speed, precision, and resilience. Both parties declined to provide financial details of the agreement but did stress it was a multi-year deal.
Based in Karachi, Pakistan, UBL is one of South Asia’s largest and most digitally advanced banks, serving millions of customers across retail, corporate, and international markets.
AUTON8, a UK-headquartered automation testing vendor specialising in AI-driven quality assurance solutions for financial institutions, was selected for its “domain expertise, technical excellence, and a relentless problem-solving mindset,” according to Farasat Naqvi, Executive Vice President for Core Banking at UBL.
“Completing this phase within such an ambitious timeframe reflects the strength of this partnership and positions UBL for greater agility and innovation,” Naqvi said.
Patrick Torto, CEO of AUTON8, said: “UBL’s bold vision to modernize and rigorously test such a historic core inspired us to deliver with speed and precision. This success reflects AUTON8’s mission, solving the industry’s most complex challenges with technology built for the future, but delivering today.”
The project involved end-to-end testing on decades-old core systems, described by both companies as one of the industry’s most complex undertakings.
AUTON8 deployed its AI-powered testing automation platform to ensure precision, agility, and full coverage across legacy and modern components, Torto said.
The partnership is framed as a long-term strategic foundation rather than a one-off engagement. UBL said it is laying “a solid foundation for future transformation phases, with AUTON8 continuing as its trusted innovation partner for automated quality assurance and digital enablement.”
For AUTON8, the engagement reinforces its position as a leading automation and QA technology provider for banks and financial-services institutions, demonstrating its ability to deliver large-scale testing modernisation projects in heavily regulated environments.
