Grid Dynamics has rolled out a new testing tool aimed at enhancing data migration processes at large banks and other finance businesses.

The California-based software company said its new platform is powered by GenAI and designed to “test any shift from traditional data platforms to modern cloud-based solutions.”

Many financial services firms, particularly traditional banks, insurance firms and other finserv players, are in the process of modernising their data management platforms, thereby catching up with fintechs and neobanks.

Migration testing

The company said its newest platform is developed in such a way it can test and support migrations from legacy systems such as Talend, Teradata and Netezza to up-and-coming cloud providers, such as Azure, Google and AWS, which currently dominate the data management space.

“By leveraging the GenAI-powered Starter Kit, we anticipate that enterprise-scale clients will experience considerable reductions in both the time and costs typically associated with large-scale test initiatives,” said Ilya Katsov, vice President of technology at Grid Dynamics, which was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in Silicon Valley, with operations across the Americas, Europe, and India.

Katsov explained that the Starter Kit utilizes advanced techniques to automatically transform business logic and data schema, which the company claims will significantly speed up the delivery of data modernisation projects compared to traditional methods.

The new platform is part of the company’s broader growth strategy, which focuses on solving complex technical challenges for clients undergoing business transformation, Katsov continued.

“This kit transforms our analytics platform into an end-to-end solution for delivering large-scale data modernisation programs, from establishing platform services to onboarding applied pipelines and business logic to integrating with downstream data consumers,” he concluded.
