Quality engineering leaders from OpenText and Lloyds Banking Group discussed last week how GenAI is rapidly changing the nature of software testing across the board.

During an online seminar organised by QA Financial, testing specialists from both OpenText and Lloyds Banking Group agreed that engineering teams in financial services must innovate at speed without compromising on IT risk.

New standards of enterprise observability are essential to prepare for new regulations, they discussed, including the EU Digital Operations Resilience Act.

Change and innovation are essential in retaining a competitive edge as they agreed generative AI is changing the sector at lightning speech.

“Currently GenAi is the most game-changing thing that has happened for a long time,” said Richard Bishop, Lead Quality Engineer, Lloyds Banking Group, who was one of the key speakers.

Also joining the discussion was Carlos Gutiérrez (left), Product Group Leader for the DevOps Cloud platform at OpenText.

He shared with the attendees that “AI could accelerate particular areas in the application model process. It is a productivity race.”

During the webinar, Gutiérrez zoomed in on some major challenges in scaling automation, singling out frequent releases, time and effort and skill sets.

Meanwhile, Bishop discussed how AI creates a host of compliance concerns, such as data privacy, bias and fairness, content accuracy, licensing and usage restrictions, cost and pricing structure and technical support.
