Typemock launches C/C++ mocking framework for Linux

Typemock, the Tel Aviv-based specialist in unit testing solutions, has announced the launch of Isolator++ for Linux, its latest unit testing solution. Typemock, which was founded in 2006, provides a mocking framework for legacy code and AI-generated test suggestions. Clients have used the company to unit test .NET and C/C++ on Windows, and with this new release, developers will be able to unit test their code on Linux as well. With Typemock, production code does not need to be changed for testing. Developers can mock fields, members and concrete classes, as well as non-virtual, private and static methods using templates or redefined classes. Typemock Isolator++ for Linux also provides more coverage with a mocking framework that supports testing legacy code, the company said. “Supporting Linux was high on our customers’ wish list and we’re delighted to release this new version to answer their need,” commented Eli Lopian, Typemock’s Founder and CEO. “This release will allow organisations that develop on Linux, Windows or both operating systems, to benefit from a single mocking framework, while finding and rapidly fixing bugs.” Typemock’s financial services clients include Wells Fargo, Bank of the West, HSBC, JP Morgan, State Street, Capital One, Visa, Credit Suisse, Société Générale and First Bank. Typemock told QA Financial that many financial organisations are drawn to agile methodologies and unit testing practices due to the competitive and fast-paced environment, because code quality needs to align with the highest standards and because financial firms often deal with aging and legacy applications.
