Wipro promotes Capco’s UK chief Anne-Marie Rowland to CEO

Tech giant Wipro has appointed a new chief executive officer for its business and technology management consultancy firm Capco.

Anne-Marie Rowland will take over as CEO on 1 April, leaving het current role as managing partner of Capco’s business in the UK and Ireland.

As CEO of Capco, Rowland will report directly to Wipro CEO and managing director Thierry Delaporte and will become a member of Wipro’s Executive Committee (WEC).

Lance Levy (left), who has led Capco as CEO for close to a decade, will take on a new role as strategic advisor to support Capco’s strategic direction and Wipro’s overall Consulting strategy, the firm said in an emailed statement with QA Financial.

Discussing the change in leadership, Delaporte said “Lance has provided unmatched leadership to Capco for over a decade. Under his guidance, Capco has differentiated itself as an industry-leading full-service transformation consultancy, and become a key growth pillar for Wipro.”

The Wipro chief stressed he is “glad to announce Lance’s support as Strategic Advisor, helping Anne-Marie and Capco’s business through a carefully planned transition. Anne-Marie has a deep understanding of Capco, our clients, teams.”

Rowland joined Capco 14 years ago and since joining the company, she held a series of executive roles, having served on the Capco Global Leadership Team for several years in a number of capacities, including as global head of Capco’s consulting and transformation practice.

She was also global client partner for a number of large financial institutions, executive sponsor of Women@Capco and most recently the managing partner for Capco’s UK and Ireland business.

“Our clients’ needs are changing at pace as they look to meet the challenges and opportunities presented by emerging technology and evolving business landscapes,” said Rowland, as she called Capco and Wipro “a winning combination”.

Capco, a business and technology management firm, was acquired by Wipro in 2021 and operates primarily in the financial services sector. Capco’s global headquarters are in London with around 2,000 staff.

The company offers a range of services, including testing strategies, system integration as well as automated testing tools and solutions, from its 32 offices across the U.S., Canada, UK, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

In recent years, Capco was noticed for helping a range of large banks and financial institutions to migrate from legacy environments to cloud-based architectures.
