Cloud Migrations and Platform-as-a-Service Dominate 2019 IT Investment

Cloud migrations are the top investment area for UK IT leaders, according to research from Computer Weekly/TechTarget. 35% of respondents in ComputerWeekly’s survey named moving to the cloud as their top IT spending priority this year. In particular, IT heads at UK enterprises will prioritise increasing their use of platform-as-a-service (PaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technologies over the coming year. In addition, technology leaders expect their capacity requirements to change in 2019, with 80% of respondents saying they expected their use of public cloud and IaaS services to increase. Only 20% said they thought theirs would remain the same. 83% of respondents said they expect their use of platform-as-a-service (PaaS) to increase, while the rest said they expected it to remain the same.
