Belgium-based bank BNP Paribas Fortis has introduced real-time account aggregation from multiple providers to its Easy Banking app. The function, based on open banking principles, allows customers to have a single overview of their various bank accounts on one screen. The tool, developed in partnership with Swedish PFM platform Tink, currently covers accounts held in Belgium with Belfius, ING and KBC. In the next few months, the service will be expanded to cover other banks and include functions such as payment initiation and money tracking, as well as goal-setting personal finance management features. Michael Anseeuw, head of retail banking at BNP Paribas Fortis, says: “Today, one in four BNP Paribas Fortis customers also has an account with another bank. This new function forms part of our broader ambition to improve the user experience and provide customers with innovative new services that make their day-to-day lives easier, in the context of the EU’s new Payment Services Directive.”
